Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places orderly and to pile up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck comes in quite a few kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This particular model consists of telescopic forks intended to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This version is ideal in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Normally more than one type of reach truck is required inside warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to use and can increase productivity while making the most of available storage space.
