Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machinery that allow work to be completed effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that enables the user to easily calibrate the machinery and its components. System diagnostics are offered in various languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for enhanced performance at higher altitudes. Also, it carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The full-time positive traction and 4-wheel drive ability adds improved traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this specific model include crab, coordinated, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machinery more agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps improve wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to utilize on irregular terrain.
Although these models are larger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable reach and range of motion. The design of the Z-boom gives the models exceptional up and over positioning capability which ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively designed mechanism used for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model machine is only 2.46 meters when the axle is stowed. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
