Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the machinery has to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. For example: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
